Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know to be brought low, and I know how to abound. It’s easier to think that we’re blessed every time we succeed but it’s also easier to think we’re abandoned every time we fail. Failures do not define who we are, and we may be surprised to know that successes do not either. What matters most is who we are in the eyes of the Lord and it never changes wether we succeed or fail.
Maybe most of us have already watched Game 7 of the NBA finals match of Golden State Warriors lead by Stephen Curry against the Cleveland Cavaliers lead by LeBron James. It’s been a tough season for Steph Curry and the team. He even got so frustrated in game 6 that he accidentally threw his mouth piece at a fan and began shouting at the referee.
It seemed okay at first having 3-1 lead against the Cavaliers, but then LeBron and the team took home the championship and MVP trophies. It’s difficult to be brought low, to lose something that you really worked hard for. But it’s what Paul realized when he was in jail, that through Christ, he had the strength to be content of whatever circumstance he was in.
I failed my comprehensive exams at the first take and began defining my self negative stuff. Now for the second take, I’m at peace and am contented and ready to face of whatever results it would be. God loves me even I failed. God loves me the same if I succeed. God loves Steph Curry even when he lost the game. God also loves LeBron when he won the championship.
