Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? — Matthew 6:26
God is fully aware of our daily needs and He is more than willing to provide it for us. When we experience His grace and mercy for our sins, we also experience his faithful provision wether it’s food, clothing, and shelter. Yes, he also provides our financial needs, but let us be careful not to worship money over God.
Money can be converted into our basic needs and can satisfy our wants when we have more. But it is just merely a tool for exchange. The love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10) and let us not fall into worrying for our basic needs and start hoarding money for ourselves. Let us not be greedy on the things of this world but be thankful for the daily provisions of God.
Greed can make us forget to thank God and appreciate the simple things He provides us. But that doesn’t mean that God is limited to providing us on our basic needs only. He can make us rich if it is His will. It would not be for ourselves but it would be for blessing others. God wants to honor our hearts if we want to experience financial freedom, but let us not be limited to thinking that the most important thing in life is getting rich.
Let’s just focus on the faithfulness of God in providing for us. It’s the thought that God values us the most and He doesn’t forget about our needs, which matters most.
