The Best Opinion

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.  — 2 Timothy 3:16 -17

We always seek for answers in our problems and challenges in life. Hearing opinions that we think will solve these problems are those that we keep for ourselves so that when the same challenges come, we may apply it again. All of us have different opinions on many things in life, and some opinions might even be opposites of one another. Having that said, what is the best opinion? Or maybe the best question to ask is, what is the truth? The good news is, we all have everything we need in the Bible.

I myself have been guilty of this, that even though I’m familiar with the Scriptures, I still sometimes tend to give advice to friends based on my own opinion. The thing is, an opinion should stand the test of time. Most of the time, our own opinions do not stand the test of time and are only effective for a shorter period, or maybe they aren’t even effective at all. Then I realize that the best pieces of advice I could give my friends are from the Scriptures because it stood the test of time. From the time it was written up to now and even in the future. It has become the standard solution for the same curse people face from generation to generation.

Why is the Scripture so effective? Because the Author knows us pretty well and it has been proven many times. God’s word makes us complete for every good work set out before us. It is very helpful and useful in teaching, reproof, correction, and for training in righteousness. The Scripture is the best guide we can receive and then give to others.

God has something to tell us through the Scriptures. We don’t only pray and do all the talking. We must hear His word and listen to His voice that we may apply it in our lives and be victorious in every battle we face every day.
